Extrawheel bicycle trailers
A large wheel
placed close to the centre of load gravity, record-breaking lightweight
performance and the quick and super rigid fastening turned out to be a watershed
solution not only where the car remains a luxury. Riding your bike, even with a
great load, in the city as well as on narrow lanes, you just forget about the
trailer. The cyclist quickly gets used to the somewhat different than usual
reactions of the vehicle; even when the luggage is placed asymmetrically.
Carrying a smaller load will even cause anxiety to the cyclist; he will look
behind to make sure it’s still there.
Those who may be interested in a quick and reversible
conversion of their genuine “mountaineer” or “roadster” into a truck are
invited to see for themselves how in practice such a conversion:
·
will amaze them with the stability of the
bicycle-trailer set following from lower centre of gravity;
·
will upgrade durability of the bicycle’s
rear wheel, which often happens to be overloaded;
·
will reduce the tendency of the front wheel
(a rising tendency when loading the carrying rack) to lose contact with the
ground when riding steeply uphill;
·
will reduce the stopping distance where a
load placed high on the bike will make the back wheel lose contact with the
ground sooner than when it’s pushed at the axle level;
·
will facilitate hikes where it’s convenient
to carry typical bags or backpacks;
·
will reduce resistance of the
bicycle-trailer’s movement on soft ground by spreading the load over a larger
surface and the bike’s initial hardening of the track for the trailer wheel
following behind;
· will facilitate getting on and
off the bike, which for some people may be quite inconvenient when the space
behind the saddle is filled with load.
Spare wheel
Extrawheel as the world’s
only large-wheel bicycle trailer may also turn out to be helpful in a situation
when cracking of the front wheel spoke and its friction against the brake or
mudguard supports will make it impossible to continue the journey. Transferring
the twisted wheel to the trailer, which is less loaded and will ensure the
wheel greater freedom of movement, may turn out to be a salutary solution, especially
if you’re far away from civilisation.
Transporting bags
We would like to conclude our offer with completely waterproof (even under water)
transporting bags which will give your luggage excellent protection against
dust, water and humidity. Their large capacity (60 litres) will allow you to
carry a total of 120 litres of luggage fitted to the shape of the bags. The
lack of unnecessary buckles and hard edges will facilitate filling the bags and
at the same time will protect the trailer’s cover against wearing through.
Technical Data:
- capacity: max. 60 litres
- weight: 850g
- dimensions: diameter: 35cm, height before rolling up: 90cm
- tight rolled-up closure
- polypropylene unbreakable buckles
- special-process bonded seams
convenient carrying handle.

In order for the bags to be waterproof under water, the closure should
be rolled up at least four times. See film
Bicycles
Extrawheel trailers can be attached to any bicycle;
with any wheel diameter, suspension system or type of brakes. In those cases
where the axle is constructed with a geared hub mechanism in the rear wheel, it
is possible to fix special nuts beside the axle, for instance where the
carrying rack supports are screwed down.
